I was so happy to have the opportunity to photograph Adriane. Is she beautiful? Well yes. But I have to say that she is as beautiful on the inside as out. Pleasantly simple, sincere, and completely unaffected by pre-wedding pomp, Adriane plopped on the floor to love up on her puppies and accept their wedding wishes. That just made me love her. Then she was whisked away to marry the love of her life, Chad, at a beautiful ceremony perfected by wedding planner extraordinaire, Jennifer Reeves of A1 Weddings. The bouquets were beyond the beyond the beyond, designed by Sylvia Brown of Sugar Poppy Floral Designs, whose work is simply amazing. More wedding photos will follow but for now, here are a few mixed in with Adriane's bridals, shot at the Croatian villages and Castele of Adriatica.

The mother-of-the-bride, Daresa, was a picture of beautiful.

We have had such beautiful weddings this season. And I am more than behind on my blogging. We shot 11 weddings in May and 8 in June, so i have a good excuse! But I just had to show you Stephanie's details, which were exquisite. I will post many more of her wedding day very soon, but I wanted to show you her details right away!

I wanted to say Happy Valentine's Day to my friends, and post a wonderful shoot that we did for Texoma Living Magazine, and had lots of help doing it. The table was designed by incredibly talented Jeff Bucker of Jeff Buckner Designs. He is the creme de la creme. The detailed dahlia cupcake, rosey cupcakes, and hand-painted quilted rice paper sugar cookies were created by Renee Marze of Phoenix Cake Boutique. The swirly flower tower and topiary were designed by Special Occasions and added a special softness to the table. The linens were a generous gift of Texas Laundry. Thanks David!

I L O V E Brandon and Shelly. First of all, Shelly is drop-dead gorgeous. She has incredible hair, a beautiful smile, and the sweetest disposition in the world. Brandon is hysterical, he is up for anything, and he is so in love with Shelly. The first time we met them we spent two or three hours just talking and laughing. The first time we were set to shoot the engagement, it was a rainout. The second time, Shelly didn't feel well, the third time, I didn't feel well, and the fourth time, another rainout. But we decided to do it anyway, and Shelly chose the historic Rialto Theater. How cool. I love the vintage feel of their session. We can't wait for your wedding Brandon and Shelly!

Hi friends! I've been shooting up a storm this season and have not kept up on my blogging *sigh... But I will be catching up on my blogging so soon! I have a ton of beautiful weddings to post but have been swamped out of my gourd! Hope everyone is doing wonderfully! Be back really soon with some really pretty brides and their happy guys. In the meantime, here are a few photos from our local Arts Fest on Saturday. We took a little community time break. Talk to you soon. :)

Yay! I'm finally posting a new wedding! And it was really beautiful. This is the wedding of Ryan and Carolina, held at the Tribute Golf Club in the Colony (which is quite the awesome venue btw.) Carolina and her wedding planner, Erin, did a spectacular job of making everything so pretty. The primary color was yellow, which felt so fresh and streamlined, and they even served lemonade. It was a morning wedding and so it was still rather cool outside which made everything feel fresh, Springy and new. Lots of yellow gerber daisies and roses graced the reception, and Carolina's bouquet was a a big bloom of ivory roses and hydrangeas. Ryan and Carolina are now in Germany and I wish them the very best always! Thanks guys for being just so wonderful!

Hi! Well, tis the season and I have so many weddings to blog. But first, I want to share some photos from the 3rd annual Tom Bean Bluegrass Festival that I recently shot for Texoma Living Magazine. Thank you Dan and Edward for sending me to document such an interesting, entertaining and cultural event. There were three days of shows but I had weddings on the weekend, so I shot last Thursday, which was gospel night. My son went back for the Saturday shows and says they were just fantastic. The bands I saw were Grandpa's Neighbors, The Herzog Family, and the Buddy and Tina Wright band. I thoroughly enjoyed it and was amazed at all the flying finger-pickin' and personalities. I looked everywhere for Everett, Pete and Delmar but couldn't find them. Awe!

Hi! I had a blast shooting the American English concert! They are the #1 tribute Beatles band, internationally respected, and are even managed by Sam Leach who was the original promotor of the Beatles in Liverpool. They make it easy to suspend reality for a few hours and feel what it might have been like to see the Beatles live, and they really have the sound down as closely as anyone could, I do believe. They play out of Vox amps and it's so cool to see "Paul" in the black suit and pointy boots, laying down the rhythm with that beautiful Rickenbacker. They played at the Oak Point Amphitheater in Plano last night, and Jim and I were honored to shoot it. We are Beatlemaniacs so it was a really great time for us. American English played from all the Beatle eras (1963 - 1970) and sported many different Beatles fashions. I have to say that in addition to John, Paul, George, and Ringo (Young, Eric, Doug, and Tom), they have Ken Zemanek. Wow! He is the keyboardist (Korg Triton!) and sound architect who adds horns, flutes, strings, organ, tambourine, backwards sound effects and more. Basically he is a one man orchestra. I thought he was supreme. What fun to be Annie Leibovitz for a night. You might want to visit Jim's blog for more photos of the night.

Hi Guys! Today I am blogging my Saturday wedding, which means I'm jumping ahead a little, but I just wanted to show you how wonderful my day was. I had the honor of shooting the wedding of Mark and Gloria right here in my home town. The Catholic church here is architecturally splendid and provides many treasures to shoot. The reception was held at the Denison Country Club in a beautiful room overlooking the water. Mark and Gloria are from Florida and they came here for an engagement shoot a few months
back. Jim and I both loved meeting them on that day but for the wedding day, I was on my own. I enjoyed every minute of it because both Mark and Gloria are so pleasant and sweet; no stress, just love in the air, and Gloria was absolutely radiant. And can you believe that Mark designed Gloria's ring? It's so beautiful and can you imagine how wonderful to have a guy who would (and could!) do that? Mark and Gloria are the kind of couple that when I lay down at night, I thank the Lord for blessing me so greatly that I would have the opportunity to meet people like them, and be a part of their wedding day.

Hi! Hope you guys had a really great weekend! I'm trying to get over a stomach bug. Wasn't too bad, but it kept me down a bit. I have one of those hospital tables where I can edit photos on my Mac from bed in front of HBO! Spoiled, I know! But it gets the job done.
Today I want to share a really cool set of engagement photos and slideshow, shot mostly at our new studio and thereabout. Meet Tony and Robbie, a picture perfect couple who are very special to me. Robbie is my niece, my big brother's baby girl, and she's every bit as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. And as you can see, that's a lot of beautiful. She'll be marrying Tony, the man of her dreams, in June in the Cayman Islands, which is a special place for all of my brother's family because they all go there every year. We all thought the day would be coming soon for Tony to join our family and all I can say is Tony! Are you really up for the annual Christmas Hicks family hoe-down? And can you hold your own at the Texas Hold'em table? I hope so because it's pretty obvious that Robbie has her heart set on you. Jim and I are very happy for you both and may God bless your marriage forevermore!

Hi! Today I am posting some photos from a recent bridal shoot at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas. It is also known as the Painted Church. It is absolutely GORGEOUS both inside and out; unbelievably detailed and absolutely breathtaking. But just as gorgeous, also both inside and out, is Amy. This church is very special to her because it has been her church home since she was a little girl, and it's where she received all her sacraments, baptism, communion, as well as confirmation. So I'm very thankful to have had the opportunity to shoot her bridals there. Isn't she lovely?

Hi! This is Nina, one of our beautiful brides. We did a lot of the Herb Alpert Whipped Cream pose! And that's what I gave them as a wedding gift also, a copy of that old CD. My mom played the heck out of that album on Saturday mornings and it was as sweet as a taste of honey. Seriously sweet people are Nina and her mom. I am thankful!

Hi Guys!
I've been out shooting quite a bit lately and have so many cool photos to share. Sooooo, I'm gonna start with the beautiful wedding of Beren and Alyssa. Oh my gosh I just love these two! What a great couple they make and how happy they were on their wedding day. It's really neat to have the opportunity to shoot a wedding for people that you know and love, and I just think so highly of these two. Beren plays guitar at my church and Alyssa is very talented and sings in several of the choirs. They are perfect for each other, and everyone knows it. This was a wedding where I was surrounded by my church family who all worked together to make it so pretty and memorable. The rehearsal dinner was a grand occasion held at the home of two of my best friends, Terry and Cynthia Rainbow, where an entertainment crew performed original songs written especially for the couple, and they were h y s t e r i c a l. Please notice the pretty little girl in the photos below with long blonde hair. It was a really special day for her too, because she is Beren's daughter, Marissa, and she is the light of Beren and Alyssa's life. She was so happy and her eyes were all sparkly! Don't they make a beautiful family? Thank you Beren and Alyssa for letting me be a part, and may God bless you with all that heaven can send!
